From an email I received recently (full repost with minor edits): Death Anniversary of ‘Sardar Bahadur Jagat Singh Ji Claire’ [27 July 1884-23 October 1951] Maharaj Jagat Singh Ji was the third Guru of Radha Soami Satsang Beas. He held the office after the death of second master Baba Sawan Singh. He was born on 27th July, 1884 at Nussi, a small village near Jalandhar. He received His education in the Mission School at Jalandhar and later took his M.Sc. degree in Chemistry. Worldly Love Is a Doorway to Spiritual Love

Yesterday, we discussed the purpose of life a bit. The conclusion, in brief, is that the purpose is to reconnect with our Source. With that understanding in mind, here’s a nice quote: “Whom should one love, how should one love? Whatever one loves — whether duty, human beings, art, friends, an ideal, or one’s fellow-creatures — one has certainly opened that door through which to pass in order to reach that love which is God. The Rose Within

One more nice story for the weekend: A certain man planted a rose and watered it faithfully; and before it blossomed, he examined it. He saw the bud that would soon blossom, but noticed thorns upon the stem, and he thought, “How can any beautiful flower come from a plant burdened with so many sharp thorns?” Saddened by this thought, he neglected to water the rose, and just before it was ready to bloom… it died.
